Cedar Glen

Longworth, Oxfordshire
This beautiful development comprises just two stylish four-bedroom properties, one in stone, the other in red brick, both with timber weatherboard details. Each has a lovely, light ground floor living area, which flows through from the entrance hall to the kitchen and family room. There are several sets of French doors which let masses of natural light in and encourage the family to spill outside come warmer weather. The large patio areas are ideal for entertaining: there is plenty of space for relaxing, outdoor dining and the barbecue. The separate lounge has a wood burner and French doors on two sides to enable easy access to the garden. Each has four generous bedrooms; two include an ensuite with a fitted dressing area and one has an ensuite shower. Both houses also have a good-sized home office, utility room, boot room and garage. In addition to the garden, Plot 1 has a paddock of approximately one acre (0.4 hectare), so would be ideal for buyers who keep horses.

Around the area

Historic Oxford

Twelve miles to the east of Longworth is the beautiful, historic city of Oxford. Its cultural and academic reputation reaches round the world, but it is also an excellent local centre for shopping, entertainment and eating out: Westgate Oxford and Bicester Village have a wide range of designer stores; the city boasts many top class restaurants and hotels, and caters for all musical tastes, from classical concerts at the Sheldonian Theatre to local bands at the Bullingdon.

Longworth Village

Longworth village sits on the Golden Ridge, which rises between the River Thames and the Vale of White Horse, with views towards the Thames and Harrowdown Hill. Its charming stone houses include the award-winning Blue Boar pub which serves traditional pub food and local beers. Farmoor reservoir and Stanton Harcourt Lakes are both sailing venues; there are lovely opportunities to walk along the Thames, the Ridgeway path and explore the charming villages in the Vale of White Horse.

Close to Local Amenities

Cedar Glen is in a lovely location on the edge of Longworth but is also very convenient for Southmoor and Kingston Bagpuize, which are just a short drive or a few minutes' walk. The villages have local supermarkets, a village hall, Kingston Bagpuize House and The Waggon & Horses pub, which has recently been refurbished and now offers a range of delicious food which makes the most of locally-sourced ingredients.

An Excellent Range of Schools

Longworth primary school was rated Outstanding by OFSTED in its latest report; the village falls into the catchment of Larkmead School in Abingdon on Thames (rated Good), which has a sixth form. There is an extensive choice of independent schools in Oxford, Abingdon and the surrounding area, including some of the best in the south – Magdalen College School, The Dragon School, Radley College, Abingdon School and Cokethorpe School near Witney.
